Description

The Picnic Quintet, comprised of Matthew Ives on drums, Thomas Misson on piano, Aaron Entresz on guitar, Ian Cocking on bass and Abby Fraser on flute, will perform Claude Bolling’s Picnic Suite of 1980.

This Suite of seven movements was written for virtuoso flautist Jean-Pierre Rampal and guitarist Alexandre Lagoya and is in Bolling’s usual style replete with Baroque and Classical gestures for the solo instruments, while the piano, bass and drums interact with a lightweight jazz counterpoint.
