Concert: The David Kirby Anniversary Concert

Saturday, May 22nd, 2021 from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm

On Saturday 22nd May 2021 at 7:30pm, St David’s Cathedral will present a very special concert in honour of Mr David Kirby to celebrate his 80th consecutive year singing with the Cathedral Choir. David first sang as a boy chorister with the choir in early 1942 and has remained a central and beloved part of the choir and Cathedral community through to the present day. In honour of this extraordinary anniversary, the choir and organists of St David’s Cathedral will be joined by numerous guest singers and the Argyle Orchestra for an evening of superb choral choral, orchestral and organ music conducted by the Cathedral’s Director of Music, Thomas Rimes.

Featuring masterpieces from the choral repertoire including Parry’s “I Was Glad”, Handel’s “Zadok the Priest” and Schubert’s “Mass in G”, the concert will be a celebration of David Kirby’s extraordinary service to the music and ministry of the Cathedral and to the musical tradition which is so dear to his heart. Proceeds from the concert will go to support the ongoing music ministry of the Cathedral.

Soloists Lana Kains, Alexander Rodrigues and Rob Evans.

Tickets $35/$28. Click here to book online via TryBooking (opens in a new window).
