Paul hears that the Church in Corinth has fallen into dissension and quarrelling because some believe they are more spiritual than others because they believe some gifts are greater than others.
Paul corrects this by teaching that all gifts come from the one Spirit, all gifts come from the one God. And he teaches, that these gifts are given, not on merit, but for God’s purposes, and the common good.
If God has spiritually gifted each member of his Church, and he has done so to benefit all, the clear and obvious question the text asks of us, is how are we using our gifts?

An encouragement to engage more with the Psalms this year, to celebrate our ‘Baptism Birthday’, and to reflect on the promises made as God Parents, to better support those welcome into the Church of God.

From Matthew 2.1-12 we read a familiar story of the wise men traversing afar, to see the newborn king of the Jews. From within this story, we read of three very different responses to the news of Jesus’ birth. One of hostility, one of indifference, and one of faith. As we enter this new year, how are you responding to the news of Jesus?
