John 13 encourages us to use our imagination to picture the scene in that upper room. The audi0 of the reading is included)
But as as do so we will get a clearer picture of our God and a bigger picture of what it means to love as Jesus love, to follow the new commandment.

On Palm Sunday we hear the the reading of Jesus’ crucifixion and death. As surely as nails pierced Jesus hands and feet it should pierce our hearts and minds as we reflect on our failure to be disciples of this Jesus and to make disciples of Jesus.
The way of the cross may seem foolish, but it foolish for us to depart from it.

We are rightly aware of abuses of power in our political leaders, but we need to recognise where it happens in the Church and lament our failures.
