Service: Festival of Voices Eucharist

Hillcrest Christian SchoolThis Sunday at 10am we will have a visiting choir from Hillcrest Christian School from the Gold Coast who are in Hobart for the Festival of Voices.

As well as helping lead us in Dudman’s Communion setting they will also be singing the following anthems.

Hillcrest Christian College is located on the Southern end of the Gold Coast, Queensland. The College has a large choral program with 13 College Choirs from Years 2 – 12 and over 550 students singing weekly in a rehearsal. The choirs perform locally, nationally and internationally. Past tours have include ANCA Choralfest in Port Macquarie, the National Eisteddfod in Canberra and in 2013 the Hillcrest Children’s choir were invited to represent Australia at the 5th International World Vision Children’s Choir Festival in Seoul, Korea. Touring this year to the Festival of Voices are two of the College’s Senior choirs, Bel Canto and MANCHOIR. In addition to performing their own repertoire they have joined together to present several mixed voices works. The choirs perform music in a variety of genre including sacred and spirituals, jazz, folk song arrangements and most importantly  Australian choral music.


Service: Evening Prayer not Evensong

BibleWe will have Evening Prayer this Sunday rather than Choral Evensong due to the Celebration of Voices Evensong last week.  Our next Evensong will be on Sunday August 28 at 5.30pm.
