Preached by Richard Humphrey on Sunday, April 27th, 2014

A part of the series.

Moving from “Did the resurrection happen?” to “What does it mean?”

See how it means a living hope, not only life into the future but meaningful living now.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! By his great mercy he has given us a new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. 1Peter 1:3

Elementary – relating to the most basic and important part of something.

John S Whale, Professor of Ecclesiastical History at Oxford in the middle of last century wrote “The Gospels do not explain the Resurrection; the Resurrection explains the Gospels. Belief in the resurrection is not an appendage to the Christian faith: It is the Christian faith.”

Text of the Sermon can be found here here.
