Messy Church December

Sunday, December 1st, 2013 from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm

Things are getting messy and handy at Messy ChurchGreat fun for parents and children, with music, craft, talk and prayer. Held in the Cathedral to help the children feel at home in their Cathedral. 

There is also a family concert beforehand at 2.30pm raising funds for Samaritan’s Purse. Come and enjoy all the fun. Details here

Bellringing Festival

Bell RingingFrom Friday 6th until Monday 9th the cathedral’s bellringers are being
joined by ringers (eight this year) from around Australia for what has
become an annual bellringing “festival” in Hobart. The primary aim of
the weekend is to “raise the bar” for the local ringers, giving us an
opportunity to ring more advanced things that we don’t normally have
the numbers to attempt.

The date each year is set to mark the anniversary of the completion of
the tower (and therefore the cathedral) on 6th December 1936. We will
also be ringing the bells of Holy Trinity (Greek Orthodox) Church in
North Hobart.

The cathedral’s bells will be ringing on Friday evening, at various
times on Saturday and Sunday, Monday lunchtime and Monday evening.
